This script takes a time point from the clipboard and jumps to the point in the QuickTime playback. In my transcript I select the number that is the time point and copy it to the clipboard (this allows the script to work for any program the transcript is in). Then I run the script from the Script Menu, and the recording jumps to that point.

screenshot The script is

set timepoint to (the clipboard) as number
tell application "QuickTime Player"
if the timepoint > the duration of movie 1 then
set the timepoint to the current time of movie 1
end if
if the timepoint < 0 then
set the timepoint to the current time of movie 1
end if
set the current time of movie 1 to timepoint
play movie 1
end tell
