Clothing
Between 1890 and 1940 the home was central
to the everyday lives of South Dunedin
families. By the end of the period, however,
although home life was still dominant,
domestic routines had experienced a substantial
amount of innovation and change.
People dressed in a manner radically different
from that of fifty years previously as can
be seen in the Clothing section. This section
is made up of four parts each covering a
time period starting with 1890
to 1910.
All the items photographed
for this section are held by the Otago Settlers
Museum. Inspection of the Museum's holdings
is available by appointment. Contact
the Museum for details.
